Vicks GermFree Cool Mist Humidifier Review & Giveaway

January and February were probably the worst months so far regarding Zach’s health. During those two months, he was constantly sick with a cold, flu, cough, or something else, and I had to make about 5 trips to the doctor during that time. It was crazy! Each time we went to the doctor, he would recommend using a humidifier in our room during the winter season to help with Zach’s nasal congestion and cough.

We received a Vicks GermFree Cool Mist Humidifier to try out these past couple of months and I was so excited to see just how this would help improve Zach’s health during the cold season. The Vicks Cool Moisture Humidifier from Kaz helps temporarily relieve dry air discomforts for better home and personal comfort. The UV technology used in this humidifier kills up to 99.9% of bacteria, mold, fungus and virus in the water after 2 hrs of continuous use. This provides the assurance that the moisture emitted from the unit is virtually free of germs!

When I received the humidifier, I read through the manual to make sure I was setting it up correctly, then I filled the tank with water and soaked the filter that came with it, inserted the Vicks vapor, and turned it on during the night. I loved how quiet this humidifier was when we used it, it didn’t disturb our sleep at all. It was also surprisingly easy to set up and get started, which is always a plus for me.

The Vicks GermFree Cool Mist Humidifier features three fan settings you can adjust to your own preference. I like to keep it on the lowest setting it I’m going to use it during the nighttime. First thing I noticed when I turned it on is the smell of the Vicks Vapor coming through. It was subtle, but also nice to know that it actually works! It helps you open up your airways when you’re congested.

After two days of using the humidifier during the nighttime only, Zach was feeling so much better. He could breathe regularly and didn’t sound or look congested at all, so I would say that it really helped Zach get over his cold along with his medicine and drinking lots of fluid. Another great thing about this humidifier is that it’s cool mist, so you can use it even during the summertime and it will work just fine. Overall, I would definitely recommend using a humidifier during the winter, but if you can, you should totally try the Vicks GermFree Cool Mist Humidifier!

I would love to try the warm steam humidifier for our bedroom, I grew up with a Vick’s warm steam :)

We’d love this humidifier because our house is really dry. We keep one almost constantly running in my son’s room and we’ve been looking to get one for our daughter’s room.

After taking a look around the website, I would really like to try out the Braun ThermoScan® Ear Thermometer with ExacTemp™ Technology.

I would like to win this humidifier for our daughter, she has asthma and often has to use an inhaler or do breathing treatments especially when she plays a little too much outside which of course she loves to do. With the arrival of Spring brings pollen and allergies and I know this humidifier would really help her breathing out! She hates using her breathing machine but loves to run and play outside, having this in her room would really help with her breathing!
