Zach’s First Flush + Times Square First Flush Celebration!
I have been potty training Zach since mid-December, and it has not been easy. I decided to just take baby steps with him until I figure out a method that works best. So far, he has been really eager to sit on the potty, but nothing happens when he does! He’ll tell me he has to “pee pee” and we’ll go running to the bathroom, pull down his Pull-Ups, get him situated on the potty, and wait.

I usually find myself waiting for about 15 minutes until I realize he isn’t going to do anything. I give him words of encouragement, cheer him on, clap and sing for him, but- nothing happens!
Zach’s First Flush!
He was getting ready to poop in his Pull-Ups the other day, when I told him “No Zach, Potty! Potty!” and we went running to the potty. This time, he didn’t want to sit on the potty. He wanted to sit on the toilet! I was laughing so hard, and told him “Okay, let’s do it!”
I sat him on the toilet and he did it! He pooped in the toilet, and then he went “pee pee”. He was SO excited! I taught him how to flush the toilet, and when he did, we (my mom and sister) clapped and cheered for him, and he was so happy! I pulled his Pull-Ups back on and the next time he wanted to use the bathroom, he let me know.
It hasn’t been like that every time, because he will still pee in his Pull-Ups, but we’re taking baby steps here. I am just so excited that he will run to the toilet when he knows he’s going to use it.
Times Square Celebration!

A toddlers First Flush is just as important as any other event in their lives, like their first word or their first step. So, it should be celebrated! Pull-Ups is throwing a larger than life potty training celebration in Times Square to help parents kick-off potty training the right way, on January 29th!
The celebration is going to include a giant potty, live performers, and a light-up billboard celebration as well. Pull-Ups is asking parents to share their toddler’s First Flush celebration moment for a chance to be featured on a Times Square billboard during the celebration on January 29th.
You can enter the contest here.
Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Pull-Ups. I received product samples to facilitate my review and to host a party. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
