My Husband is as Sweet as a Rose

If you’ve been reading my blog, then you’d know that, due to certain circumstances, I haven’t been able to see my husband for the last 2 years. I was able to go out to see him in May and have spent the last 5 months so far with him and his family.
One of my favorite things about Omar is his ability to surprise me with the simplest things that seem to make my day just a little bit better. Like when he surprises me with a roses from time to time.
There’s just something about roses that cheer me up. And since I’ll be leaving soon, I’ve decided that every time he gives me a rose, I’ll keep it pressed in my journal for a pick-me-up later on.
The rose may die, but the memory will live on.

Especially since he and I are separated right now too. He’s been in the military for 5 years with deployments, training, etc, and then he has had to leave for internships for 6 months at a time since starting school. It’s difficult being apart when you really want to be together. Those special moments of the rose are very near and dear. I’m glad you have something special too.
